On Wednesday the 17th we had our last school meeting, said our goodbyes and then got on a plane to Bogota, where we had a connection to Miami. We had a three hour layover in Bogota, so we decided we would take a taxi into town to visit our favorite place in Bogota, the Magic Cafe. We like it there because they serve a delicious hot wine. With taxi rides and security and the rest we only had about 20 minutes in the restaurant, plus I was hauling my wedding dress, and we were in shorts in freezing cold Bogota, BUT we were really glad we did it. It was a nice last taste of Colombia.
With a lot of luck we just barely made our flight to Miami and got there just past midnight.
When I was looking for a hotel in Miami I had several requirements 1) in South Beach 2) in the Art Deco district 3) under 100 dollars 4) pool 5) on the beach. We found everything we were looking for at the Richmond Hotel. It was so nice. We had a great time in Miami, it was funny to finally be back in the US, but still have everyone speaking Spanish all around us. We had really good food there and spent most of the time on the beach.
We had so much fun in Miami that we didn't really take any pictures. But we do have this one that Brad took from the window of our room:
Speaks for itself doesn't it?
Miami was a great way to kill time before heading off to Jamaica for the main event.
